In the Division 2 of the Boys Final, the up and coming badminton school of St Colmcille’s Knocklyon took the 1st position in the Round Robin event, with Wesley College taking 2nd spot and St Peters of Wexford taking the final position. Colmcille’s boys - Dara Byrne, Aidan Ward, Paul Doherty and Damien Leonard will get another day out of school to play in the All Irelands later this month. Division 3 was also played as a round robin event, with placing going to Salesians (Celbridge) 1st, St Kiernan’s Kilkenny 2nd,and Good Council taking the 3rd position!!
In the Girls Div 1, Mt Sackville once again met their old rivals Sutton Park in the Leinster final. As happened in the Dublin finals, Mt Sackville were too strong for the Sutton Park girls and they repeated their win with a 6-0 victory. Now the Mt Sackville girls of Ciana Diskin, Ann Heary, Allison Garrigan, and Eilish O Connell will play their badminton skill once again later this month. Joining them in the All Irelands will be the Division 2 winners the St Vincent Dundalk girls team of Michelle McCourt, Stephine Winters, Niamh Mc Dermot and Kathy Davis as they were the out right winners of 2nd Div section coming 1st with Wesley College coming 2nd and St Joseph’s Cluny coming 3rd. Finally in the Div 3 Section, Colaiste Mhuire of Johnstown won pole position, with 2nd and 3rd placings going to St Vincent’s Dundalk and Our Lady’s Terenure respectively.
