There was a big entry in this tournament particularly in the boy’s event, but that is no surprise as the hall was awash with selectors, managers and coaches who were working hard and taking notes to help them make their team selection for the forthcoming Irish U/15 Quad, U/15 Celtic Challenge (Leinster) and Nothingham (Leinster) trips away.

Twelve school badminton teams battled their way across the city centre in the dreadful weather to the Terenure Badminton Centre to play in the Dublin U/19 Schools Finals. The finals were divided into 3 divisions of boys and girls sections.

On finals day, David Hogan, Chairman of the YAC’s Committee thanked the competitors, parents and organisers for making the Leinster Juvenile Close run so smoothly. A special “thanks” went to Amanda Mullery who ran the tournament sharply over the three days. David also made an apology for our President Breda Connolly, who could not attend the finals, as she was sick. Speedy recovery Breda.
