A big crowd from all over Leinster descended on the Terenure Badminton Centre on Sat 30th December for the Finals of all the Age groups. The early rounds had been played on the preceding days leading up to the finals. All the competitors plus their parents, grandparents and friends gave the badminton center a great atmosphere for the finals day.

At the U/13's, there was as much energy in these matches as you would see in any of the age groups. Liam O Leary  and Louise Griffin made it all the way to 3 finals each.

Terenure College was well represented at the U/15 Age group with both boys Graham Doyle (1st year at U/15) and Diarmud Cox (last year at U/15) in all 3 finals.

Saturday the 16th Dec 06, saw the inaugural "Baby Max" Open Graded Round Robin Tournament take place at the Terenure Badminton Centre.

The match of the Championships was Saturdays mixed quarter final game, Donie O'Halloran/Huang Bing(Irl) took on the No.1 seeds of Chris Bruil/Pauline Van Dooremalen (Ned), with O'Halloran and Bing starting off at a slow pace they eventually got up to speed and won the match in 2 sets 21-18,21-18. At 4pm on Saturday’s the crowd began to fill the centre as Irelands' semi finalists were to walk on court.

Last time Ireland won this event was 1998!!!

Out of the seven counties that were invited Yorkshire won the event with Leinster coming second place which is the highest place Leinster has achieved in the last number of years.

The Pre Christmas Juvenile Leinster "B" Tournament was held in our Terenure Centre last weekend 2/3 Dec 06.
