We had 50 competitors from Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Meath & Cavan representing 14 different clubs competing in Men's Doubles, Ladies Doubles & Mixed Doubles. Leinster Branch Muriel Moles has been nominated to receive an "unsung heroes award" in recognition of her voluntary services to the community. Clr Vincent Jackson Lord Mayor of Dublin will present Muriel with an "Unsung Heroes Pin” and a certificate on Tuesday 5th of June in the Mansion House.

Vets Badminton "Chick Doyle" Perpetual Trophy
Scotland won the trophy with 61 pts (2nd year for Scotland to win), Ireland came 2nd with 58 pts and Wales came 3rd with 20 pts in this annual Vets Triangular in the Baldoyle Badminton Centre this weekend.

Leinsters U/17 Nottingham Inter County team had a good start in the opening match of their group in Nottingham last weekend (12-15 April). The opening match against Oxfordshire, they had an 8-2 victory. Pat Marron and Amanda Mullery rallied the team again in the afternoon match and they beat Guernsey’s 10-0. David Tutty who travelled to the tournament carrying a slight injury had a re-occurrence of his injury and was receiving physio, but he was suffering. The last match of the opening day was against Leistershire who beat Leinster 8-2, this was very unfortunate as this now put Leinster in a difficult group for overall placing in the 42 Team Annual event.

On Good Friday, Ferghal Kearney organised a fabulous open tournament for various levels in our Baldoyle Badminton Centre. Over 160 competitors from many counties including Dublin, Meath, Louth, Kildare, Wicklow, Wexford, Offaly, Carlow, Laois and Tipperary all travelled to play in this inaugural Good Friday tournament sponsored by "Street & Park Equipment Co." who’s owner is Declan McGinn (Chairman L.B.B.U.I.). President of L.B.B.U.I. Breda Connolly was there also presenting some of the prizes.
