While there will be a lot of interest in whether the Leinster Rugby Team can make their second Heineken Cup final and repeat last years win, for some this weekend is all about The Inter County Play-offs in Milton Keynes and whether Leinster Badminton can make its way back into the Premier Divisions of this Badminton England Event.
This is the team’s first time playing in the Play off weekend since re-entering the competition six years ago in Division 5. It is testament to the effort put in by so many people over this time that in five of the six seasons the team has successfully been promoted. It is also important to highlight that some of those playing have been part of this team throughout.
In the Playoff’s Leinster will face first team opposition from Norfolk, Kent and Northumberland who topped the other three Division 1 groups. The playoffs will be a round robin format with two promotion places available to the first and second placed teams. There will be no easy matches and we are expecting tough opposition in all three ties.
The Team to represent Leinster this weekend is as follows
| Karen Bing | Eddie Cousins |
| Clare Flood | David Gannon |
| Keelin Fox | Joe Ledwidge |
| Pauline Glennon | Niall Tierney |
| Norma McIntyre | Mark Topping |
Play will start at 11am on Saturday when Leinster's first opposition will be Kent.
