U/16 Airdrie Inter Counties Invitation Yorkshire 2/3 Dec

Out of the seven counties that were invited Yorkshire won the event with Leinster coming second place which is the highest place Leinster has achieved in the last number of years.

Owen Marron and Ciara Brady made it all the way into the main singles event and both lost in the semi finals to eventual winners of the singles events. Owen lost to Yorkshire’s Mark Middleton 31-25 and Ciara lost to Sarah Milne(Yorkshire) who more than likely will be on the English team when the play Ireland in the U/17 Quad in Jan 07 in Wales.

In the "B" girl’s singles final event, Leinsters Laura Butler played Caroline Oliver, Laura bet Caroline 31-24.

Out of 12 nominations for "Most Sporting Boy" Owen Marron won the Award. The Manager of the Leinster Team, Cheryl Evans commented " this is good for Leinster Badminton as he is a good ambassador of our game."
