Adult Summer Bonaza Terenure Centre 26/27.07.08

Claire and Sheila run a successful Summer Bonanza...

As our Olympians were heading off to represent Ireland in the Beijing Olympics, the Terenure Badminton Centre was holding its own mini Olympics with the Adult Summer Bonanza tournament ran over 2 days 26/27th July’08.

With over 162 entries from 29 clubs, with players from, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, France, Donegal, Waterford, Kilkenny, Wicklow, Louth, Meath and Dublin. Grades Senior, Class 1,2,3 was played on Saturday and Classes 4,5,6 and Social was played on Sunday with some Olympic standard matches competed on court.

Although the tournament was run as a round robin event, there was an immense amount of work done by the Leinster Branch Executive committee member Claire Flood, and as always her mother Sheila Smyth helped her, so on behalf of the LBBUI and the players a big “Thank You”
