South West Leinster Badminton League 60th Anniversary

Breda Connolly President of the LBBUI was invited down to the Dolmen Hotel Carlow to celebrate the 60 years that the South-West Leinster Badminton League has been in existence.

Over 300 people celebrated at the Dinner dance on Saturday 12 April ’08, were Breda presented the League committee with a commemorative plaque and also a beautiful new perpetual trophy in memory of the late Declan Casey who played badminton for many years for Abbeyleix CYMS, from the late 1960’s to the early 90’s. Declan’s son David is a very promising player who now is playing for a club in Mountrath Co. Laois.
