Teams were playing for the “Chick Doyle” Perpetual Trophy; the winners were decided by how many matches were won at each age group. Scotland once again won the Trophy for the 3rd year running, which was presented to Scotland’s President Leon Douglas by Marie Doyle (Chick’s Wife).

It is a credit to the sport of Badminton to see so many enthusiastic badminton players at all age groups, playing with great pride for their country. Some of the matches were of top quality, but that was no surprise as a number of players were national champions in their younger years.
