There was a reasonable entry and it was great to see that some of the very talented young Leinster and Ulster players travelling to Dublin to play in the tournament. Fearghal Kearney must be commended on a very well run tournament, which also had a plate event so that every player had a feast of badminton on the day.

In the blue ribbon singles event Ireland and Leinster U/17 duo of Owen Marron and Ciara Brady took their respective singles titles. In the men’s doubles Northerner’s William Gourley and David Magee had a marathon 3 setter to take their prize. Mt Pleasant’s Siobhan Grehan paired up with Portarlington’s Lorainne Hill to win the Ladies doubles, then Siobhan made it a double win by pairing up with her club mate Lincoln Nelson to take the Mixed Crystal.
