Scott Evans(WR47) lost to the No.1 seed ,Denmark's Kenneth Jonassen(WR5) 21-9,21-14.Hard luck to Scott but this quarter final placing will bring his own world ranking position into the early 40's. Congrat's Scott !!!!!

Scott Evans(WR47) played a super match against Stanislav Pukhov. Scott narrowly lost the 1st set 19-21, and matched the Russian point for point all the way in the 2nd set and took it 21-19. But all Scotts hard training paid off as he took control at the mid way point to book his place in the quarter final against  Denmark's No.1 seed Kenneth Jonassen( WR 5)

**Scott Evans has secured his place in the third round of the European Championships with a two set win over Sven Eric Kastens of Germany 21-19 21-19.

The first set was a very close game as Kastens took an early lead 9-6. Scott levelled it up at 9-9,  level again at 12-12,17-17 and 18-18. Scott took the opening set 21-19.

In the second set, Scott took control of the game and pulled away to lead 14-8.  However Sven, clawed his way back and at 19-14 up he won 5 straight points to level the game at 19-19. Scott won the next two points to take the set 21-19 and the match.

Scott now faces the top Russian Stanislav Pukhov at 6.50pm this evening. Pukhov is ranked 69 in the world and has already defeated English favourite Andrew Smith 21-12 21-17. 

This is the first time ever that we have an Irish player through to the third round of the European Individual Championships.
