Dublin Open U15 - October Bank Holiday Weekend

Like the older age group, the U15’s produced some great badminton play on the Terenure College courts. Old rivals Terenure College boy Adam Jermyn took on the young Sligo Boy Jonathon Dolan (Summerhill College) in the final.

Dolan took off in the opener with some great play and took the 1st set 21-15. Jermyn who had a bigger physical presence on the court began the 2nd set by cutting out his own mistakes and took the middle set 21-12.

By now Dolan was tiring as he had a gruelling semi-final against his doubles partner Joshua Magee (Royal & Prior Donegal) which also went to 3 sets. The Sligo terrior gave it his best shot but Junior Rugby Squad member had the fitness behind him to win the final set and the title 21-12.

Dolan partnered by Caroline Black (Friends Lisburn) met Jermyn partnered by Sofia Brondum (Loreto Dalkey) again in the Mixed final, but made no mistakes this time and took the title 21-14, 21-16. He then made it a double by teaming up with his doubles partner Joshua Magee to win another title 21-14, 21-14.
