Badminton Elite Camp with Jens Eriksson

Jens Eriksson, from Stockhlm, has been travelling around Ireland with Brenda Barry (Badminton Ireland) giving coaching sessions under the "Women In Sport" initiative. Jens who is 35 years old is playing top class badminton for Fyrusfyadern in Sweden and is currently the Swedish Under 15 Coach.

July 1st: Coaching was in the Methodist College, Belfast. It was a 5-day residential session of 21 players from Ulster, Leinster and Connacht. Coaches involved were Tommy Hehir, Leslie Dewart, Tracey Hughes and Sandra Lynch.

July 7-8th: Coaching was in Sligo with 18 players taking part. Irish doubles player Daniel Magee was in attendance.

July 10-11th: Coaching was in Cappoquin, Co. Waterford (Munster) where 15 players were joined by Tom Bralley and JoJo Tobin.

July 12-13th: And finally the last session took place in Terenure Badminton Centre, Whitehall Road, where 20 players from around Leinster were put through their paces. Irish Under 15 coach Liam Sinnott, Brenda Barry and Sardra Lynch assisted Jens.

Brenda Barry must be thanked for all her hard work and committment in helping Jens travel around Ireland.
