Scott Evans exited the Grand Prix Gold tournament in Bangkok after reaching the last 16. The world's number two and top seed Chen Jin proved to be Scott's undoing but not before he was shown some fantastic play from the young Dundrum man. After the match Chen Jin was applauding Scott for the effort.
Scott began his campaign well in Bangkok with a victory over Italian Klaus Raffeiner in straight sets with a scoreline of 21-8 21-8. Scott then produced a gritty display of skill and power in winning his second round match against top Indian player, Chetan Anand 21-15 21-16.
Scott now heads to Melbourne for the Victoria International where he will be joined by the rest of the Irish hopefuls, Huang Bing, Chloe Magee and Ruth Kilkenny.
Best of luck to all the players.
