Teicnic Badminton is Badminton Ireland’s new Technique based programme which focuses on the technical development of players and key stages in their playing development.
Teicnic Badminton has seven levels (t-shirts) like belts in karate, starting at a basic white level, followed by yellow and on eventually to the advanced black level. Each time the candidate has attained the skills of a particular level they are ready to move on to the next. The course is great for anyone interested in making a difference to their own game.
The next courses are being run on Saturday 11th May. There are now only 2 places left on the White, 1 place left on the Yellow and 1 place left on the Green, so get your application in as soon as possible.
Badminton Ireland will be introducting the next colour (RED) at their Coaches Conference, in July 2013.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know about Deaf Sports Ireland's up-coming 5km Fun Run (or walk if you prefer) in Phoenix Park on the 27th of April. The run will start and end at the Papal Cross. There is a €20 entry fee and all proceeds will go towards sending the Irish Deaf Badminton Team to the 22nd Deaflympics this July, in Bulgaria. The fun run commences at 10.30am but would suggest that you aim to be in the Phoneix Park by 10am at the latest. The Deaflympics commences on the 25th of July with the opening ceremony, with the closing ceremony on the 4th of August 2013.

Nottingham 2013
Morning Zero.
Somewhere in the distance I can hear a car alarm, or a church bell, or maybe a siren. As I reluctantly regain consciousness I realise that it is my mobile phone morning call. Since I retired eighteen months ago it has been redundant, but this morning it is trying to tell me something. As my eyes regain focus I see a packed bag on the floor alongside the bed. Either it’s July and I am heading on my holidays to Portugal or its Easter and we are going to Nottingham. The Aero chocolate Easter Egg on the bedside locker gives the game away. Oh s*** it’s Nottingham.

It's nearly that time of year again - the summer holidays and that same question will be asked "What will we do with the kids this summer". Well, hopefully, Leinster Badminton can help you for one, if not, two weeks of the childrens summer holidays.
We are holding Summer Camps for a week in July (1st - 5th) and a week in August (12th - 16th), starting at 10am until 3pm. These camps are open to all ages (6-17) and abilities, whether you're a beginner, a school player or simply looking to improve your game. So why not download a form below and get the started.
This year we have 2 top notch coaches in Pat Marron and Sian Williams. Pat is a former International, a current Vets Nationals title holder and has been coaching for the last 25 years.
Sian is also a former International (Wales & Ireland) and also holds a Vets Nationals title. More recently, she and her partner were runners up in the O50's Ladies Doubles All England Veterans Tournament (see article below this one).
So sign up and get some superb coaching this summer, to kick start next season.
